FACT CHECK: Did VP, Yemi Osinbanjo, say the Government feeds Nine Million children daily?

Claim: 

A website, dareheights.com, published a story on August 26, 2020, which alleges that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo said the Muhammadu Buhari ked government feeds 9 million daily. The story reads in part: 

"The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has disclosed the number of children benefitting from the Federal Government’s school feeding programme daily.

Osinbajo said nine million children across the federation are currently being served a nutritious meal per-day under the Home-Ground School Feeding programme.

Osinbajo made this revelation while speaking at the 2020 Virtual Conference on Nutrition in Nigeria, organized by the Aisha Buhari Foundation in collaboration with development partners."

Roundcheck Findings: 

The Home-Grown School Feeding programme launched under the aegis of this present administration to tackle malnutrition in students public primary schools. 

As an article published on August 18, 2020, on the Vice President's official website, RoundCheck found the speech given on the same day at the 2020 Virtual Conference On Nutrition organised by the Aisha Buhari Foundation and its partners – the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Finance Budget and National Planning and the Nigerian Health. 

The speech reads in part: " Fourth, is our SIPs, particularly the HGSFP for public schools, it currently feeds over 9 million children across 34 States and the FCT, serving one nutritious meal every day; and our Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme that provides cash transfers to about 1.2 million beneficiaries so far, to boost income with the aim of improving the nutritional status for each household."

Conclusion:
The claim is True

 The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo said the government feeds over 9 million children daily, a nutritious meal, via the Home Grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP)
